Mission Objectives: A Note from Pastor Ron

The Launching Pad is the platform from which great expeditions are set in motion. On June 13, I announced several exciting changes that will launch The Assembly at Broken Arrow into a new day of ministry.  These changes will allow us to increase our ministry effectiveness to the children, youth, and adults throughout our community. 

• Launching requires vision.  
  While studying our current ministry challenges and effectiveness, it became clear that we needed to rethink our current ministry model.  We must remove the growth lids in our Children's Ministry department and find a way to bring all of our progams into alignment with our core values.  I called our leadership team to prayer and we processed this plan for months.  We studied more than 60 other church models, but ultimately, I believe God guided us to this vision reality for The Assembly that will lead us into the future.
  
  
• Launching requires courage.
  Let's face it...we are all creatures of habit and change can be difficult.  Timing and circumstance did not allow us the luxury of a more subtle approach.  The Launching Pad initiative is one that I do not take lightly.  I have personally struggled with each part of this transition.  I don't want change for change sake, yet, we cannot allow ourselves to become prisoners of precedent.  The programs and schedules we cherish today must always remain yielded to the activity of God in the life of our church.  If we remain open to His leading, He will give us the wisdom and courage to move forward.
  
  
• Launching requires preparedness.
  No mission can launch without properly staffing and training of the crew.  The need for new volunteers is tremendous as we endeavor to expand our Children's Ministry, open Small Groups, and launch a third morning service.  I am calling on every person who calls The Assembly "my church" to step up and help us launch with confidence this September.  Training classes and information meetings will take place throughout the summer.  Updated class times and ministry needs will be posted on this website.  Please take a moment to explore the needs and RSVP for a training session.  Make it your goal to attend one Sunday service and serve in another service.

Church, this is our moment. The countdown has started. We have set course on a great mission and I believe that our best days are ahead of us!
