One night a year, the Tim Tebow Foundation partners with churches around the world to provide an incredible prom night experience centered on God’s love for people with special needs, ages 14 and older. The Assembly is proud to be the official host for this event in our community!

What is Night To Shine?
A prom for people with special needs ages 14 and over, who will be our guests for the evening. Guests will be celebrated with a red carpet, crowns and tiaras, corsages and boutonnieres, limo rides, dancing, dinner, photo portraits and the full VIP treatment. The vision is to provide an unforgettable night full of faith, hope and love for the amazing people with special needs.

Who is invited to Night To Shine?
People with special needs ages 14 and over that register to attend, including people with disabilities that may be physical, mental or psychological.
Prom Dress Donations
and Dress Dream Team
We are collecting gently used prom dresses to be donated to girls who will attend the event. If you would like to donate a dress, they can be dropped off at The Assembly church office located at 118 E. Commercial in downtown Broken Arrow.
Donations are accepted Monday through Thursday, from 8:30am to 5:00pm. Please have all dresses donated by January 18, 2017.
The dress fitting dates for our special guests will be January 26 and 27.
We are building a Dress Dream Team help to make this entire process as enjoyable and efficient as possible. We are looking for people to serve in the following areas:
- Dress organizers (available before the event to organize and sort all the dresses donated)
- Seamstresses (available to assist girls with minor alterations the day of the fittings)
- Personal shopping assistants (available to assist girls individually as they pick out their dress)
- Refreshment servers (available to prepare and/or serve refreshments to girls as they shop for their dresses and wait for alterations)

Dream Team Descriptions
This is one of the most important jobs at the prom and by far our biggest needs! As a buddy/escort, you are responsible for being the host for one of our special guests. You’ll show them around, take them to get food, take pictures with them, and of course, dance! It’s the job of the buddy/escort to ensure that no one is left stranded! We need mature (must be at least 16 or with a parent or adult), patient, loving people to serve as escorts.
Volunteer and Guest Registration Team
You’ll greet our volunteers and guests as they arrive, help them get checked in and direct them to where they need to be. This team also has the honor of passing out gifts to our guests at the end of the night!
This team will oversee the traffic flow of guests and volunteers as they arrive and direct them to appropriate drop-off and parking areas.
We’re looking for nurses, doctors, medical students, or anyone else in the medical field that would be willing to donate their time for our guests. You would be available if one of our guests has a medical need.
Coat Check Team
This team is responsible for taking the coats for all of our volunteers and guests and keeping them organized by number. At the end of the night, you’ll assist in passing them back out as everyone leaves.
Red Carpet and Crowning Team
Your role is to provide buddies with crowns and tiaras to place on the guests after registration and before they walk the red carpet. Buddies assigned to each guest will lead them down the red carpet, and you will be there to help cheer on and make them feel like kings and queens as they stop and pose for pictures!
Your role is to support on-site law enforcement personnel by ensuring a safe and secure environment for guests and volunteers. Each member of this team will be positioned at various entrances and exits throughout the facility and ensure that anyone entering or exiting is permitted to do so.
Hair and Makeup Team
One of the things our guests look forward to the most is getting pampered by our hair and make-up team! We are looking for people who have the skills to help make our guests look their best by styling hair and applying make-up to our prom guests.
Be a part of the team that gives our guests a permanent memory of the evening. This team will be everywhere capturing special moments happening all over the prom!
Parents/Caregivers Room Host Team
This room will be specifically designated for the parents/caregivers of the guests. We will create a warm and comfortable area for them to relax, be pampered and served. We need massage therapists to volunteer a couple of hours, as well as volunteers who would like to be food servers.
Karaoke Room Team
Your role is to encourage our special guests who participate in singing karaoke and maintain a fun atmosphere for our 2 karaoke rooms. Basically, make the guests feel like they just performed on-stage at the concert of their life!
Greeting and Flowers Team
This team will welcome guests with a friendly smile and be door holders as everyone arrives. A portion of this team will also help with providing corsages and boutonnieres for all of our special guests.
Shoe Shine Team
Your role is to welcome each male guest to participate in getting a shoe shine. It’s all about telling them how sharp they look, making them feel important and like they’re getting the full VIP treatment!
Food Service Team
Most of the food and drink service is provided and managed by the hotel this year, but this team will be responsible for helping make sure tables are kept clear, guests have what they need and serving with the food line as needed.
Tear Down Team
When the party is over, it’s your time to shine! You’ll help get everything cleaned up and back in order. With all hands on deck, we’ll be finished in no time.
